Dotoku Kaikan Nakatsugawa Learning Center

Directions

By car – 13 minutes from Chuoh Jidoushado (highway), Nakatsugawa exit I C;

By train – 13 minutes from JR Nakatsugawa station by taxi.

The Learning Center is located in Nakatsugawa in Gifu prefecture. It stands on a 6.5 acre plot with natural surroundings that give it a peaceful energy. Many events are held there, such as the New Year’s Prayer and Celebration, summer festival, Bukko Taikai assemblies, seminars (wisdom seminar for adults, children’s retreat, teenager’s retreat, vegetarian seminar, one month seminar on the Way of Truth, and so on).

Dotoku Kaikan Tokyo Miroku-den

Go to the JR Okubo station on the Sobu line, take the north exit and walk 3 minutes

Or go to the JR Shin-Okubo station on the Yamanote line and walk 5 minutes

The Miroku-den is open to the public and houses a wooden statue of Buddha Miroku. This statue is made with 2000 pieces of wood and it is the largest wooden statue of its kind in the world. He sits on an octagonal platform that represents the 8 directions, which encompasses the whole world. He holds the earth in his hand to signify our wishes for the world to live in peace as one family.
